Support for Unpaid Carers

Our project is to support unpaid carers and their loved ones in Leicester East, with a view to scale to other areas, if needed.
The are 38,000 Unpaid Carers in Leicester and 30% are from our community.
As many of you are aware, more people are needing more support to help them take care of their loved ones and navigating the Health & Social Care Systems alone can feel overwhelming.
We are conducting research to understand the issues affecting the Community, with a view to deliver better support & education material. Examples of Health & Social Care Services include GP Practice, NHS Hospitals. DWP or support from Local services like Leicester city Council or Leicestershire County Council.
We want to work with key Service Providers and Community Organisations to share best practice, expertise and to improve overall Health & Social Care outcomes for our Community.

The Community Project aims:
- Identify the pain points or barriers, challenges to accessing Health & Social Care Services.
- Understand the needs of Unpaid Carers and their loved ones.
- Reduce stigma and raise awareness about certain conditions and cultural needs.
- Increase Support and Knowledge for Unpaid Carers.
- Improve health outcomes and signpost to a wider network where necessary
